Too often the quest for perfection obliterates art before it has a chance to flourish. The Worst Song Ever Podcast is about creating amid those overwhelming doubts that can creep into the mind of any artist. Will this be good? Will people like it? Our podcast laughs in the face of that crippling fear and says “Do your worst.”
Literally.
Each week our goal is to write an original song from scratch. Instrumentals and lyrics haphazardly thrown together — generally in less than an hour — all while we keep asking ourselves, can we do this any dumber?
When failing is success — is success failure?
That’s the real mindfuck of this whole experiment.
In practice, The Worst Song Ever Pod is three friends who’ve known each other for about two decades. They live vastly different lives in completely different parts of the country. The main goal of their friendship has always been to find entertainment by lovingly encouraging each other to follow through with bad ideas — mainly for our own selfish enjoyment.
And laugh a lot.
Jason has called Mike the man with the golden pipes, a jerk, and hey you. He once tasted the color the purple, and will never be the same. He also really enjoys laughing with his friends.
Jeremy is a tenor and likes long walks on the beach, short walks on the beach and watching sunsets on the beach. He isn’t always present, but his presence can always be felt. Once, he met a dog named Andy. He is a lawyer by trade and a lover by reputation.
Mike has been called the man with the golden pipes, a jerk, and hey you. He’s the primary person responsible for making the music, so you can blame most of what you hate about this podcast on him.
